September Recap

As we approached fall this year we sloshed in mud and puddles, and gathered falling acorns.

Started our homeschooling. See Emily's letters A and B?
Crafted. I made this macaroni craft with her, but Ron has been the main craft teacher on Friday mornings when mommy goes to work.
We also took the last days of the season to go to the splash park. The kids obviously loved it.

Mom and Dad came in September this year and we used that time to visit the aquarium.

During September, we bought the kids two hermit crabs: Connie and Ummie.  Unfortunately, both hermit crabs only lasted about two weeks. We even added one more to the mix, but she was around even a shorter amount of time. Some people are not made to be pet owners.

Upon their visit, Emily was officially moved into a big girl bed. She has so enjoyed her new room set up. Thanks to Nana, Big Daddy, and Ron for all of the work they put into our sweet girl's room.

Along with Nana and Big Daddy came corn for the deer. The kids love watching for the deer and you will hear Joshua saying, "Deer, run. Buck. Buck. Buck. Deer run."

We celebrated Grandmom's birthday in September. She came over for some hot dogs, hamburgers, and cake. We love our Grandmom and look forward to all of her visits!

Gotta love these good morning faces!

With the fall comes my favorite drink...pumpkin spice latte. Even Emily knows that her mommy likes pumpkin. She will either "make" me a PSL or tell me she is all out of pumpkin spice when filling drink orders in her kitchen.

We took a nature walk at the park and I collected these leaves. I just love fall and how God is so creative even with the details and colors of leaves.

We celebrated the anniversary of 9/11 at the Bright House Field. This is an actual steal frame from one of the Twin Towers.  We will never forget those who died on this tragic day. You can read more about my reflections by clicking here.

On Labor Day we got up early to head to the beach. This is the sky that greeted us.

That didn't stop us from exploring and playing.

However, look at the size of those waves! It was so nice to see some wave action in our usually calm portion of the gulf.
Here is the sky that did arrive a few hours later.
