Summer

Please forgive me for not updating our family blog more frequently.  In the midst of starting a new family blog that will allow me more creativity and depth in writing topics and styles, I have neglected The Looney Cooney's. The new blog should be up and running by December. Yea! Remember that you can also find me (and Ron) at www.raisetherisk.wordpress.com
Now in warp speed I will get us caught up to fall so that you can see our sweeties in their adorable Halloween costumes before the week is over!
This summer we spent a great amount of time traveling to the chiropractor, Alabama, and the pool.  The daily Peanuts calendar diminished in record time and I now find myself in November.  November people!  How did that happen.  It seems like we just swore in President Obama like yesterday and here we are looking for a new Republican Candidate to vie for his position one year from now.  That is crazy.
This summer, Emily and Joshua grew and developed just as you might imagine. Joshua is now saying little adorable words and  phrases like, "no way," "outside," "ice," "baba," "lobE," and "love you."  He is such a sweet heart smiling for the camera on cue, calling for his sister, and now, complements of Brooks Bentley, doing the monster face.
In like fashion, Emily's vocabulary and gross motor skills are coming right along as well. She is such the mother hen to Joshua as evidenced by her tending to him when he cries and affectionately saying, "Joshua you are so cute," when he gives her hugs.  She told Joshua just last week, "We need to have a conversation, do you want a bagel or cereal for breakfast."  Can you believe it?
Here are some top pictorial highlights to get us caught up to the fall.

"Smile Joshua"

We spent many days this summer playing out side with water, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk.

Love to see these three watching Tom and Jerry like this.

Shopping for gifts to send to Pamela Jasmin with Daddy on his mission trip to Honduras. Pamela and Emily ended up with matching Hello Kitty gowns (not pictured here).

Joshy helping hold Pamela Jasmin's headbands.

Emily held Joshy so he could see the clouds out the airplane window on the flight to Alabama.

Emily got to take a few snapshots with Mommy's camera. Yikes!

Joshua knows a pretty girl when he sees one. Here he is with the Peach Queen, Miss Jill.

We attended the Auburn Extension Farm Expo Day and painted a mural with fruits and vegetables for paintbrushes.

The kids also held baby chicks.

Emily is an artist like her Daddy. She most loves to use water colors like Beatrice Potter.

It was so hot in the Alabama August that the cousins all enjoyed some shaved ice.

Joshua was apprehensive about petting the chicks.

Brooks Bentley was all smiles and giggles, especially after downing his shaved ice.

Look at Emily's adorable pose with my Auburn freshmen roommate's daughter, Shelby.

Time for some fishing at Mrs. Judy's pond with Big Daddy.

Nice catch, Big Daddy!

Emily fished a little and fed the fish a lot!

While we were fishing and playing, Daddy met Pamela Jasmin and her  mommy in Honduras.

We visited Auburn and Emily became the proud owner of Knuffle Bunny from Moe Williams same titled book.

It's great to be an Auburn Tiger!

The trip was complete with Toomer's Lemonade and a picture in front of the 2011 National Champions Sign.

Good to the last drop.

Nana's right hand girl.

Joshua playing on Auburn turf.

My little butterflies.

This is Travis the Trout, Ron's first Christmas present for Big Daddy over 10 years ago.  Now it is a constant source of our children's entertainment.

Neither one will bite...at least I hope not.

Emily is sporting her gown that matches Pamela Jasmin's and eating a juicy apple at Grammy and PawPaw's.

Give Paw Paw 5 Josh!

My Lovie with her lovie.

Jelly biscuit breakfast with Brooks Bentley.  That face is too cute, Brooks.

This banana spider was captivating for Joshua during our visit. He was constantly asking to see the, "pider."

The spider laid two egg sacks while we were visiting and a third before she died. We decided to go home and read Charlotte's Web to Emily. She loved it!

Playing dress up in Aunt Juju's too too.

When we returned to Florida, we were able to have Peyton come and visit with us one morning.

She was so sweet to watch play with the kids. Her favorite spot in our house is at Emily's kitchen.

Peyton was just in time to enjoy some mush like in our school story of that week, Goodnight Moon. Joshua like the mush the best.

My two sweeties after their bath. Now, they most love for me to drape the towel over their heads first and call them my little shepherd and shepherdess.
